national capital race weekend

Who else out there is running in the National Capital Race this weekend? WOOT WOOT RUNNERS!!! Dear God, I’m scared. For my birthday my parents bought me a race kit for the half marathon. Mom and Dad, I don’t know how to thank you… Will a kick in the shins do? KIDDING, this was an amazing gift! With my Mom as my coach and Dad as my babysitter, I couldn’t have done it without my wonderful parents, and I’m so glad I’m getting back into it!! So, in the final days before the race, I’m preparing as best I know how… by picking out my running outfit and stocking my iPod!! Oh, and I guess I’ll drink some H2O…

For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about, my sister and her husband are thinking about cutting out a window at the backyard entrance to their garage to create an outdoor bar. They are often hosts to weekend get-togethers, so there are loads of us looking forward to the grand opening of Sick Bar!

DIY color-block moccasins

Good day peeps! My sister and I decided our old Minnetonka Moccasins needed a little sprucing up so after typing ‘DIY painted moccasins’ into google, we found this fantastic tutorial by none other than Honestly WTF (love these girls!). We both chose pastel colours (Roni’s look blue in the first picture but they are actually purple) and we love how they turned out… these pictures do not do them justice! If your old moccasins are catching dust in the back of your closets, I suggest bringing them back to life with a little colour!! Here’s our go at it…
